San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies shot a driver in Chino Hills on Thursday night after finding a body in the trunk of a vehicle, authorities said. The shooting happened on Wandering Ridge Drive, and investigators said there is no outstanding suspect and no threat to the public.
Video from a nearby home security camera captured the moments before the gunfire, showing a passenger getting out first, then the driver exiting the car and opening the trunk. Deputies fired as the trunk was opened.
The driver’s condition has not been confirmed. Authorities also have not released the identity of the body found in the trunk or how that person died.
The sheriff’s office said patrols will remain increased in the area while the investigation continues.
