A man was fatally stabbed Friday afternoon on the platform at the Sylmar/San Fernando Metrolink station in northern Los Angeles County, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.[1]
Police responded at about 2:07 p.m. and found the victim bleeding on the ground. He was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.[1] Investigators said the suspect was described as a man wearing a reflective vest, and officers set up a perimeter while searching the surrounding area.[1]
One person was detained Friday afternoon, but police did not immediately say whether that person had been booked into jail.[1] Homicide detectives are still investigating the case and trying to determine a motive.[1] The victim’s identity has not been released.[1]
Metrolink said service was not affected, and trains continued running through the station.[1] The agency also said passengers were being asked to board and exit through the back two cars to limit disruption near the active crime scene.[1]
