President Donald Trump is visiting Southern California on Tuesday for a Republican National Committee dinner at Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes, where he is scheduled to deliver remarks.
The White House said Trump’s speech will focus on his administration’s economic policy and what it described as progress in reducing crime. White House press secretary Olivia Wales said the president will highlight “the largest middle-class tax cut in history,” “the safest border in American history” and a sharply lower crime rate.
The White House did not release details on Trump’s travel route or security plan. It is also not yet known whether traffic restrictions will be put in place near the airport or on surrounding roads.
After wrapping up his Southern California schedule, Trump will travel to Las Vegas for an additional speech Wednesday at Red Rock Casino on the economy and tax policy. His last official visit to California was in January of last year, when he toured fire damage in the Palisades and met with local leaders including Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.
