A fire broke out at a homeless encampment near 208 E. 3rd St. in downtown Los Angeles at 6:12 a.m. Tuesday, according to the report.
Video from the scene showed flames rising from tents set up near a fence. A citizen reported the fire and sent live video from the location.
Fire officials responded to the scene to knock down the blaze and secure the area. Authorities are now investigating the cause of the fire and the extent of any damage.
No injuries or further spread have been officially confirmed so far, and officials are continuing to monitor the situation.
