A couple walking their dog near Harold A. Henry Park in Mid-Wilshire say a driver tried to run them down after a roadside confrontation Wednesday evening. The incident, which was caught on an Uber dashcam, involved an orange car that moved onto the sidewalk and into park grass before returning to the road.
According to the couple, the trouble began when they signaled for the driver at a stop sign to go ahead so they could cross after. While they were on the phone, the driver allegedly shouted at them, asking whether they did not understand English, before suddenly turning the car toward them.
The man grabbed his dachshund and escaped, while the woman ran screaming deeper into the park. She said the driver then shouted, “Are you scared now?” before leaving the area. At the time, the park had many people and dogs nearby, raising concern that the situation could have led to serious injuries.
The couple reported the incident to the Los Angeles Police Department, which is reviewing dashcam video as it looks for the suspect vehicle and driver.
