Glendale police have arrested registered sex offender Calese Crowder, 39, on suspicion of violating the terms of his parole after reports of suspicious behavior at two stores in the city. He is being held without bail.
Police said they were called Friday to the 1500 block of Glenoaks Boulevard, where a man was reported crouching behind women and moving close to them at Big Sav Discount Store and a nearby Marshalls. Surveillance video from Big Sav showed Crowder crouching behind a female employee as she stocked shelves. A store manager said it was the third time he had seen similar behavior from Crowder at the store.
Officers identified Crowder using the video and later found him near the 100 block of Brand Boulevard, where he was taken into custody for violating parole. The arrest adds to a long record of similar incidents in Glendale, Burbank and the San Fernando Valley dating back to 2021.
Crowder has repeatedly been arrested and jailed on lewd conduct and stalking allegations tied to incidents at major retailers including Barnes & Noble, Nordstrom Rack, Walmart and Walgreens.
