Milestone celebration will bring together more than 600 business and community leaders
to honor five decades of advocacy, opportunity and Asian-owned businesses supporting
one another

LOS ANGELES — September 2026 — The Asian Business Association (ABA) will
commemorate its 50th anniversary at the 50th Annual IMPACT Awards Gala on Thursday,
September 24, 2026, at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown.

Under the theme “Honoring the Past. Investing in the Future.”, the milestone celebration will
bring together more than 600 business, corporate, government and community leaders to
recognize individuals and organizations whose leadership and commitment have strengthened
the Asian American business community.

Founded in Los Angeles in 1976 by Dale Fukamaki and Lynne Choy Uyeda, ABA was
created to give Asian and Pacific Islander business owners a stronger voice and greater access
to economic opportunities. At its core, ABA has always been a community of Asian-owned
businesses helping other Asian-owned businesses succeed — sharing opportunities,
opening doors and advocating for greater access to corporate and government contracting.
ABA and its early leaders were also part of the national effort advocating for federal recognition
of Asian American businesses as minority-owned enterprises, helping create greater access to
government contracting, corporate procurement and business development opportunities.
“For 50 years, ABA has been built by business owners who believed that when we help one
another succeed, we strengthen the entire community,” said Dennis Huang, Executive
Director of the Asian Business Association. “Our founders fought to create opportunities that
did not exist for Asian-owned businesses. Today, it is our responsibility to continue opening
those doors, sharing those opportunities and investing in the next generation. That is what we
mean when we say ABA is where business and opportunity meet.”
