KOWIN LA welcomes Victoria Lim as new president

KOWIN LA marked the inauguration of its 20th president, Victoria Lim, at a ceremony held Friday at Aroma’s fifth floor in Los Angeles. About 120 members and guests attended to congratulate Lim and thank outgoing President Joohee Kim for her two years of leadership.

The event opened with remarks from Korean Consul General Jung Kang, followed by greetings from civic leaders, including Gwanyung Chul Koh, president of the Korean-American Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles. Attendees voiced support for the new KOWIN LA leadership and its work to advance women leaders in the Korean American community.

The ceremony also featured a special traditional drumming performance and a dance number prepared by KOWIN members, adding to the celebratory atmosphere. In her remarks, Lim said she will focus on identifying and nurturing next-generation women leaders and building an organization that can respond quickly to communities in need.

Lim also said she plans to strengthen networking and cooperation among members and help KOWIN serve as a bridge connecting the local community and Korean American women. In her farewell remarks, Kim thanked members, supporters and community leaders for their help during her two-year term.
