The 53rd LA Korean Festival opened Oct. 1 at Seoul International Park in Koreatown, launching a four-day celebration under this year’s theme, LA Arirang. The festival runs through Oct. 4 and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with free admission.
Organizers said the event features more than 290 booths, including an agriculture and seafood expo, a market and main-stage performances. The festival site at Seoul International Park has become a hub for Korean American community events in Los Angeles, drawing families, students and visitors interested in Korean culture.
Highlights from opening day included a Cahuenga Elementary School choir singing the Korean national anthem, a traditional fan dance performance and an opening address by Los Angeles Korean Festival Foundation President Alex Cha. The foundation said 150 Los Angeles Unified School District students visited the festival on a field trip to experience Korean culture.
Cha, who has led the foundation since 2023, told the crowd that the strong turnout on the first day gave the festival a powerful start and encouraged visitors to enjoy the rest of the event.
