“MEOVV Returns with Brazilian-Inspired ‘HANDS UP‘: ‘Our Desire to Grow Has Strengthened'”
Girl group MEOVV has released their new single “HANDS UP” today, marking their return to the music scene after a five-month break, according to their agency THE BLACK LABEL.
“HANDS UP” features Brazilian-inspired beats carrying MEOVV’s message about creating new paths and breaking down boundaries. The release serves as a pre-release single for the group’s first mini album, scheduled to drop on May 12.
This comeback marks the third music release for the rookie group, who debuted in September 2024 and last released “TOXIC” in November of the same year. Their quick return to the spotlight demonstrates the group’s commitment to establishing their presence in the competitive K-pop landscape.
Member Narin reflected on their growth since debut, sharing, “During our debut, everything was a first, so I felt half excited and half nervous, but now I feel a much greater responsibility toward our performances.” She added, “Preparing for our third promotion in such a short time has allowed us to learn so much. My desire to continuously grow has become stronger.”
Anna described the new track as “a song you always want to listen to and one that makes you hum along once you hear it,” adding that “it’s a song you want to listen to even when you’re feeling down or while you’re on the move.”
THE BLACK LABEL, founded by producer Teddy Park and home to global stars like Taeyang and BLACKPINK’s Rosé, has been strategically positioning MEOVV as their premier girl group, with expectations of continuing the agency’s reputation for producing hits with distinctive sounds.
The upcoming mini album will mark a significant milestone for MEOVV as they evolve from single releases to a more substantial body of work, potentially showcasing a broader range of their musical capabilities.
